Monday 5:30 pm yoga classes are Ashtanga based Flow style classes which incorporates every movement with breath. Each class is guided through a sequence of creative and free flowing movements meshed with music to help invigorate, take you to your edge, restore and relax you.
Ashtanga Primary Series
Wednesday 5:30 pm classes are Ashtanga Primary Series with an American take on it. Postures every week include: Sun Salutations, Standing Poses, Transition Poses, Seated Poses, Finishing Poses.
The Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga is known in Sanskrit as “Yoga Chikitsa” which means yoga therapy. It is a healing process of cleansing and toning for the body, mind and senses.Yoga is a self-empowering process which instills in it’s practitioners a confidence and a deep internal knowledge of the subtle workings of our being, both subtle and gross. The postures are arranged in a time tested sequence designed to to specifically align the body and strengthen the nervous system.
The Last Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm is a Yin Yoga Class. Yin Yoga is a slow paced class with long holds in poses that reach deep in our Connective Tissue. Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues with the air of increasing circulation and improving flexibility. A more meditative approach to yoga, yin helps cultivate awareness through inner silence and bring to light a universal interconnecting quality.
We offer private yoga sessions, as well as group classes.
